ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Senior Concept Artist, you will be a key player in developing and realizing our characters, weapons,vehicles and other props. Collaborating closely with the Art Director, Creative Director and other core departments such as game design and narrative you will create inspiring concepts that fit the game's vision.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL

  • Working closely with the Art Director, Producers and Design leads to developing the look and feel of the game's characters and vehicles, as well as other props such as military gear, devices, weapons etc. 
  • Produce a wide range of concept art from early inspirational pieces to final key concepts. Your artwork will range from speed sketches to polished key art and paintovers.
  • Coordinate with other art, design, and production teams to help accomplish the goals of the project. Support the 3d teams with additional turnarounds and other necessary materials.
  • Coordinate and supervise outsourcing vendors. Provide timely and detailed feedback, set quality benchmarks, and help improve the concept art pipeline.
  • Work with production staff to establish realistic schedules and deadlines. Ensure deliverables are completed on time and to the highest quality. 
  • Continuously develop solutions, enhance department standards, and guide process improvements for the Concept Art pipeline.

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years as a Generalist Concept Artist with at least one shipped AA - AAA game. Experience with third-person action/exploration games is a plus.
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates an affinity for realism, artistic sensibility, creativity and craftsmanship. Examples of production sketches solving specific design problems are essential.
  • Strong traditional and digital art skills, including composition, anatomy, color theory, perspective, lighting, form and shape language
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain schedules.
  • Effective collaborator and problem solver 
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to collaborate effectively and handle critique and adapt quickly to feedback.

 

BONUS POINTS IF

  • A natural desire to push the artistic envelope, innovate, and inspire the team to explore possibilities and raise the creative bar.
  • Familiarity with 3D packages, and Unreal engine navigation is a plus.
  • Knowledge of game development pipelines, and technical constraints related to art asset creation is a plus
